Restoration & Renewal

We seek to be a place of healing, peace, kindness, and safety by contending for justice and ministering to the suffering, thereby participating with the Spirit in the renewal of all things. We believe this renewal begins with the gospel of Jesus Christ, which we joyfully share in both word and deed. We look forward to the fulfillment of the Kingdom at Christ’s return, and until then we thoughtfully dedicate our work, skills, creativity, and gifts for the common good of our neighbors and neighborhoods.

Collaboration & Mutuality

We desire to see the Kingdom of God in Omaha as it is in Heaven. As a local expression of the global Church, we intentionally build mutual and reciprocal connections with neighbors, other faithful churches, and like-minded organizations with whom we co-labor for justice and wellbeing in our neighborhoods. Whether working together on community fridges, hosting block parties, or organizing local art shows, we enthusiastically cooperate for the greater good.

Vision & Values

Christ Our Peace is an Anglican community rooted in Scripture, shaped by the Sacraments and the rhythms of the historical Church, and enlivened by the Spirit for the common good of our neighborhoods, the city of Omaha, and the wider world.

Formation & Discipleship

We believe the Sacraments (Baptism and the Lord’s Supper) and the Liturgy (the Church Calendar, the Book of Common Prayer, the Creeds) are means by which the Spirit forms us into the likeness of Christ, both individually and as a community. We value preaching that is Biblically faithful and culturally resonant. The practices of reading Scripture, prayer, solitude, silence, and sabbath help us remain in God’s presence despite our busy lives.

Celebration & Worship

We gather at the Lord’s table each week to celebrate the loving generosity of God. Worship is the heart of our life together, expressed not only in the liturgy, but through good, true, and beautiful creative means such as music and visual arts. Hospitality is an important expression of celebration, both in our homes and in our church among friends old and new. And we love a good party!
